Our clients for this project wanted to create a warm, welcoming place to gather and entertain. Set in Livermore, one of California’s oldest wine regions to the east of San Francisco, the home is a reflection of its ranch-land setting. As we reimagined the home, we took a modern approach to the ranch-style vernacular to create a casual California home that flows effortlessly from room to room, and from indoors to out.
Taking our cue from the natural surroundings, the furnishings and finishes hue toward neutrals, with texture playing a starring role. White walls and cabinetry are carefully balanced against deeply-hued wood floors, casings and gracious barn doors. In the kitchen a massive 90-by-90-inch marble island serves as a gathering spot for family and friends. The result is a home that is a perfect reflection of both its setting and its owners.
