We’ve recently completed several bathroom installations and have been sourcing accessories for them like mad!  Thought we’d share some of our favorite finds with you if your bathroom counter is in need of a little love…

We kept it simple in our client’s powder bath. Always fun to use fresh flowers!

This is actually my own bath which I love to keep clutter free.

Love this soap pump and cup from Zara Home!

Sea sponges are a great bathroom accessory.

Love love love the shagreen accessories from RH!

And I’m a huge fan of glass canisters for storage.

Luxurious bath towels are a must!! This Serena and Lily set is one of my favorites.

And this latest discovery of mine is my FAVE! You MUST have one of these rugs from Frontgate. It’s like stepping on a cloud!!!

Have fun adding a few new pieces to your bathrooms in your own home!  Even just a new soap pump can be the quick update you need!!

One of the easiest ways to update a room is to change out the accessories on your coffee table and some of my favorite items to use are coffee table books.  I think you can personalize a room with books that have meaning to you or are about things that are of interest to you.  For instance, if you travel, you might find books that are about places that you have been or places that you are dreaming of going to see!

Another of my favorite items to use is a succulent bowl or pot.  They are super low maintenance and they add a subtle touch of green…

And of course, fresh flowers are also a great way to add color…

Big bowls are another accessory I like to use and I love to fill them with air plants…

Sculptures are a great way to add height…

And candles are always an easy thing to change out if you want a quick update…

I have recently decided that we need a guest house.  I know the word “need” can sometimes be translated as meaning ” I want”, but I think we actually need one!  We truly don’t have a good place for guests to stay in our home.  With 3 children each having their own room and the 4th room being used as an office, extra space to sleep is in high demand!  So…I have been sourcing all sorts of ideas on Pinterest to come up with the perfect guest house for our backyard.

I think it would be fantastic to have a space that could be used for parties, a place to watch sporting events on TV or even just a place to retreat.  I want it to be self-sufficient for our parents who like to visit or for our kids as they get older and come back with their own families.  I would like it to be contained with a stacked washer and dryer, a kitchenette, a full bath, and a lounge area.  Having a very strong indoor-outdoor connection with the pool and having a nano door so it blurs the lines between the indoors and out is also important to me.  And it will definitely have furniture covered in durable fabrics so you could come in with a wet bathing suit, sit down and hang out!

I’m so excited to get it started and will keep you updated as we get going on this fun project!  Here are some of my inspiration pics…

Wow!!!  August flew by and I can’t believe we are already half way through September.  We took a little break on social media to focus on several projects we’ve been working on, so thought we would share some behind the scenes of what we’ve been up to!  From construction projects starting from the ground up to putting on the finishing touches at our accessory installations, we have been busy little bees and are thrilled with the end results.   Check out this week’s worth…

Project we’re working on in Los Altos Hills.

Adding more light by installing some awesome skylights!

Front door finally installed in another project we’re working on.

How cool is this shower in another client’s home?!

We loved this cool light fixture in the same bathroom as the shower above.

And had so much fun accessorizing their bar area!

Just a few days later, here we are prepping for a full day installation of our clients’ great room/dining room.

Here’s a little snippet of the finished product!

So in love with the orchids in the bread bowl!

Gorgeous coffee table books.

We have so many exciting things happening these days, so will continue to share as we go.  Hope you enjoyed a little slice of our week!  More to come soon…

I’m feeling as pooped as these guys today!

Ever heard of Apartment Stories?  It’s a “new Swedish Interior brand offering highly decorative objects for stylish homes”.  They are “contemporary yet influenced by the elegant interiors of the great architects and interior designers of the early 20th Century” and I am in love with their brass round mirror!!!!

And look how gorgeous these pillows are…

And these mineral paper weights…LOVE!!!

I love the simplicity of their items, but everything they carry feels luxe and elegant.  Just gorgeous!!!

I love using lanterns and hurricanes in outdoor spaces for their warm glow and the ambiance they create.  In addition, they provide much needed light when dining outside and can light walkways so as to keep dark pathways safe.  I think they add character to a table and summertime style to your yard!  Here are some of my faves…

Love the brass and copper stainless steel lanterns by Smith and Hawken at Target!

Aren’t these Toulon lanterns from Resto cool?

I love using teak outdoors and these lanterns from Williams-Sonoma Home are great!

Love the shape of this Narrow Outdoor Lantern by Shop Terrain.

These rattan lanterns by CB2 add another layer of texture to your outdoor style.

Working in my garden is something I always look forward to in the summer.  And I would like it even more if I had some of these great garden tools from Terrain!  From bright colored garden hoses to old fashioned wagons, they have everything a gardener could want!

Heritage Garden Hose

Love all of the colors, but you know me…I always go for the white!

The Ultimate Garden Cart…if my kids were still little enough, I’d haul them around in this!

Burgon and Ball Pruners because having the proper tools makes gardening so much easier.

And look how cute the packaging is that they come in…great to give as a gift!

Apolis Jute Garden Tote

Not only is it useful, but it’s stylish to boot!

And after a long afternoon of working in the garden, this salve is the BEST!

Want to see more?  Head on over to the Terrain website where you will find loads of great items to use in your yard!

Looking for a new book to read this summer?  I just finished Shoe Dog:  A Memoir by the Creator of Nike and I loved it!!!  It is by Phil Knight, the founder of Nike, and it is inspiring and fascinating learning about the early days of his intrepid startup and how it grew to become one of the world’s most iconic game-changing brands.  I literally read it in 2 days and am going to have my kids read it too as I know they will enjoy it as much as I did!

Have you started planning your celebrations for Father’s Day?  I’ve been doing a little “pinning” to get my creative juices flowing for barbeque/dinner ideas for dads!  So many great parties and entertaining tips that I’m having a hard time deciding which ones to pick.  Head on over to my Father’s Day Inspiration Board to see some of my faves.  Would love to hear which ones you like the most!
