As a mother and interior designer, I often worry about investing in expensive interiors for children, especially young boys. Kids can grow-out of a room long before you get the investment out of the furniture. Kid’s spaces can also be a bit messy: crayon markings on the wall, Legos on the floor, and let’s not even go there with dirty laundry that never makes it into the hamper. Luckily my teenage son has grown out of that phase and can now enjoy his bedroom space we’ve created for him.
Other parents frequently ask what my go-to items are for teenage boys and often find myself referencing Design Within Reach. The product is much higher quality than Ikea and at a lower price point than Room and Board. Here is how I’d create my son’s room using Design Within Reach’s modern interior design products.
