Monday–Item of the Week: I have always been a fan of Oprah, so was really excited to see that she has written her own cookbook! What I love about it is that the recipes she includes are ones that she really does make at home. She shares her story of ending her lifelong struggle with eating, including the lessons she learned along the way. Makes a great gift…maybe something to keep in mind for Mother’s Day which will be here before you know it!
Tuesday–Tips: I love to play with pattern with a basic subway to elevate a bathroom or a backsplash just by changing the direction of the tile. Some layouts are more modern and other layouts lend themselves to a more traditionalist application. Whichever direction you decide to go, have fun with it!
Here are a couple of examples of what these tiles look like installed…
Monday–Item of the Week: One of the must-have gadgets I own is my Tile–and I’m not talking the sort of tile you use in a kitchen or bathroom! The Tile App has been a life saver for me. I actually have it attached to my key chain so that I never have to worry about losing my keys. You can buy them in packs and throw them in your luggage when you travel, you can put them with your TV remote so you never lose it under a pile of cushions in the sofa, or keep it in a pocket of your purse so you never lose track of where you last left it. You just ring the lost items from your phone and if your Tile is within the 100-foot Bluetooth range, it will play a loud tune until you find it. Brilliant!
Monday–Item of the Week: My daughter and I were roaming around Anthro and stumbled upon the Aquis Lisse Luxe Hair Turbans. Now I know these aren’t revolutionary, but I think these particular turbans are genius! Every time I wrap my own bath towel around my head after a shower, it feels heavy, is hard to balance and inevitably falls off before I am ready. This turban actually has a button on the bottom of it, so all you have to do is twist it in place, button it and you barely realize you have it on. I absolutely love this little find and think everyone should own one!
Monday–Item of the Week: I don’t know about you, but I can’t stand trying to keep up with multiple passwords, but I know I shouldn’t have the same one for all of my accounts. So when I came across this new app that keeps track of all of them for you, I couldn’t have been more thrilled! Dashlane securely remembers every password you have which I think is BRILLIANT!
Monday–Items of the Week: We spec all types of drains when it comes to a remodel or new construction and gone are the days where the drain is always front and center. I think Infinity Drains are ideal if you are trying to hide typical round center drain. Typically, they are installed at the edge of the shower pan – they can be exposed as stainless or you can also order one that can get tiled over. Look how cool these are…
It’s definitely a cleaner, sleeker look. What do you think?
Monday–Item of the Week: I think this little smartphone projector is such a clever product. All you need is a fully charged phone and a smooth wall to project your videos, pictures or funny internet clips you’d like to watch. Check it out…
I think this would be a great gift for anyone! Looking for more great gift ideas? Be sure to head on over to our shop site where we’re always adding fun new products such as this!
Monday–Item of the Week: I have a great new design book to recommend to you called Interior Design Master Class: 100 Lessons from America’s Finest Designers on the Art of Decoration. It could be for people who are decorating their own homes or for those that are students of design and want to better understand the thought process and rationale. It was released last October and as one review says, “Opening Interior Design Master Class is like sitting down to the best dinner party you’ve ever attended”.
This one is going to be considered a classic someday and I think you are going to love it!
