OK…I know you’ve probably seen a ton of posts on different sites telling you what their favorite Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks are.   And I don’t want to sound redundant, but I feel like I would be remiss if I didn’t at least point out some of my favorite home items that are on sale.  It’s just such a good time to pick up a few basics that are nice to update, but even better when they’re marked down!  So if you haven’t used up all of your spending money on some new fall wardrobe staples, be sure to head back over to Nordy’s to grab a few of these great finds!

Seriously…these are the most incredibly soft blankets. You should have one on every bed and in every room of your house!

Votivo Reed Diffusers are one of my faves. Grab a few of them to have on hand because they make great gifts!

There are several Dash & Albert rugs on the Anniversary Sale so be sure to scroll through all of them, but this is a great neutral to grab!

One can never have too many serving boards!

Aren’t these the perfect size cereal bowls?

I’m always a sucker for stripes!

It’s always great to find good towels when they’re on sale.

And grabbing a Clarisonic while they’re marked down is brilliant! Also good to give for gifts.

Sugar Paper is one of my favorite stationery lines and I thought these tags were great for wedding gifts, graduations and any other fun celebration!

Don’t forget that the sale ends on August 6th and items are quickly selling out, so be sure to shop quick if you see anything you like!

Need another good summer read?  If you like scary, you should pick up “In A Dark, Dark Wood“.   I don’t normally love scary books, but I loved this one and stayed up way too late reading it.  It is very suspenseful and a page turner!

I think white paint colors can be one of the most challenging colors to get just right as it really comes down to the undertones.  There are warm and cool undertones and it is important to look at the fabrics and all the hard finishes such as hardwood floors and countertops to pick the right white.  Check out my list of favorite whites…
And here are some images in which my very favorite, Simply White, is used…

I used Simply White throughout my entire house.

It makes everything else pop…even subtle tones.

It’s great for all trim work.

And I love it with the black furniture, lanterns, pots, and my front door!

Pool floats made a comeback last summer and the trend is here to stay in 2017!   A little nap on any of these floats sounds like a treat to me with the kind of heat we’ve been having around here!  I think they’re also fun to take as hostess gifts if you’re traveling to see friends or family this summer.

Need a light by a bed or table but don’t have a ton of space to place it?  I love to use sconces just for that reason.  They free up surface space but give you all the light you need.  The Nelson Cigar Wall Sconce by Herman Miller has another feature that makes it even more appealing…you can plug it in to a standard outlet, so there’s no need for an electrician to install it!  Check it out…

I LOVE entertaining outdoors and am always happy to refresh my serving pieces at the beginning of the summer.  Since we have a pool in the back now, it’s always good to have things that are unbreakable, so here are some great serving pieces, melamine dinnerware and acrylic glasses that I would gladly use for any entertaining I might be doing!

Summer’s almost here which means more time spent entertaining and lounging outside.  I think it’s always nice to have cubes, ottomans or beanbags that you can pull out when you need extra seating.  So we rounded up a few of our favorite casual and comfy pieces of outdoor lounge furniture!

Makes me want to go out and grab one of each of them!  They would all be great to have on hand for a lazy Sunday afternoon!

Straw bags are all the rage this season and there are so many fabulous ones to choose from!  But not only is raffia popular in bags, it’s also used in home furnishings as well!   Especially during the spring and summer seasons.   Check out our raffia roundup of favorite bags, hats, shoes and decor for your home.

I’m not usually a super ruffly kinda girl, but I have to say, I’m rather enjoying the ruffle trend that’s going on right now!  Here are some of my faves…

I actually think this is probably my favorite piece with ruffles I own as it is cute with a tank and flip flops or I sometimes dress it up with a crisper top and heels–

This is probably my second favorite ruffly piece I own.  Unfortunately, they are almost sold out of the blue and white, but they do have it in a pink at JCrew and it’s on sale now!

Love this Ruffled Rafia Tote!

Isn’t this the cutest ruffled bedding for a little girl????

Great simple ruffled sleeves on this white sweater.

And even though I don’t wear much red, these would be really fun to have in the summer…

Ruffled Fringe Slides…and they’re on sale at Anthro!

Love the soft ruffles on this throw…

Kennebunk Home Sassy Throw

I think this little dress would make a great cover up…

Hattie Shift Dress

I think this suit is great cause the ruffle is simple, but adds a fun detail…

Ruffled One Shoulder Bikini Top

And that does it for me and my ruffles!

Monday–Items of the Week:  I love using diffusers at home and as accessories when we do installations in our clients’ homes.  These below are some of my very favorites.  Not only are they pretty to look at, but the scents are all lovely!

Lafco Pool House

I LOVE all of the Kai products and have used their roller ball perfume for years!

Love the pink citron scent for spring!

Votivo’s diffusers all smell lovely, but the Clean Crisp White has always been one of my favorites.

Ocean Mist and Sea Salt…take me to the beach now!

I know I already mentioned a Lafco diffuser, but this one is another of my favorite scents. And again, I just love the bottle!
