Need a light by a bed or table but don’t have a ton of space to place it?  I love to use sconces just for that reason.  They free up surface space but give you all the light you need.  The Nelson Cigar Wall Sconce by Herman Miller has another feature that makes it even more appealing…you can plug it in to a standard outlet, so there’s no need for an electrician to install it!  Check it out…

I LOVE entertaining outdoors and am always happy to refresh my serving pieces at the beginning of the summer.  Since we have a pool in the back now, it’s always good to have things that are unbreakable, so here are some great serving pieces, melamine dinnerware and acrylic glasses that I would gladly use for any entertaining I might be doing!

Copper, Brass and Enamel Tray

Compostable Dinnerware

Govino Beer Glasses. My kids even love drinking milk or lemonade out of these! And Govino’s stemless wine glasses are another favorite of mine!

Summer’s almost here which means more time spent entertaining and lounging outside.  I think it’s always nice to have cubes, ottomans or beanbags that you can pull out when you need extra seating.  So we rounded up a few of our favorite casual and comfy pieces of outdoor lounge furniture!

How cozy would this be with Sunbrella knitted terry fabric?

Makes me want to go out and grab one of each of them!  They would all be great to have on hand for a lazy Sunday afternoon!

Straw bags are all the rage this season and there are so many fabulous ones to choose from!  But not only is raffia popular in bags, it’s also used in home furnishings as well!   Especially during the spring and summer seasons.   Check out our raffia roundup of favorite bags, hats, shoes and decor for your home.

I’m not usually a super ruffly kinda girl, but I have to say, I’m rather enjoying the ruffle trend that’s going on right now!  Here are some of my faves…

I actually think this is probably my favorite piece with ruffles I own as it is cute with a tank and flip flops or I sometimes dress it up with a crisper top and heels–

This is probably my second favorite ruffly piece I own.  Unfortunately, they are almost sold out of the blue and white, but they do have it in a pink at JCrew and it’s on sale now!

Love this Ruffled Rafia Tote!

Isn’t this the cutest ruffled bedding for a little girl????

Great simple ruffled sleeves on this white sweater.

And even though I don’t wear much red, these would be really fun to have in the summer…

Ruffled Fringe Slides…and they’re on sale at Anthro!

Love the soft ruffles on this throw…

Kennebunk Home Sassy Throw

I think this little dress would make a great cover up…

I think this suit is great cause the ruffle is simple, but adds a fun detail…

And that does it for me and my ruffles!

Monday–Items of the Week:  I love using diffusers at home and as accessories when we do installations in our clients’ homes.  These below are some of my very favorites.  Not only are they pretty to look at, but the scents are all lovely!

Lafco Pool House

I LOVE all of the Kai products and have used their roller ball perfume for years!

Love the pink citron scent for spring!

Votivo’s diffusers all smell lovely, but the Clean Crisp White has always been one of my favorites.

Ocean Mist and Sea Salt…take me to the beach now!

I know I already mentioned a Lafco diffuser, but this one is another of my favorite scents. And again, I just love the bottle!

Monday–Items of the Week:  Why is it that my eyes always go for stripes?  I LOVE them!  Whether it’s fashion or decor, I can never have enough!

Monday–Item of the Week:  I have always been a fan of Oprah, so was really excited to see that she has written her own cookbook!  What I love about it is that the recipes she includes are ones that she really does make at home.  She shares her story of ending her lifelong struggle with eating, including the lessons she learned along the way.  Makes a great gift…maybe something to keep in mind for Mother’s Day which will be here before you know it!

Tuesday–Tips:  I love to play with pattern with a basic subway to elevate a bathroom or a backsplash just by changing the direction of the tile.  Some layouts are more modern and other layouts lend themselves to a more traditionalist application.  Whichever direction you decide to go, have fun with it!

Here are a couple of examples of what these tiles look like installed…

Monday–Item of the Week:  One of the must-have gadgets I own is my Tile–and I’m not talking the sort of tile you use in a kitchen or bathroom!  The Tile App has been a life saver for me.  I actually have it attached to my key chain so that I never have to worry about losing my keys.  You can buy them in packs and throw them in your luggage when you travel, you can put them with your TV remote so you never lose it under a pile of cushions in the sofa, or keep it in a pocket of your purse so you never lose track of where you last left it.  You just ring the lost items from your phone and if your Tile is within the 100-foot Bluetooth range, it will play a loud tune until you find it.  Brilliant!
