Here’s what we’re up to this first week back!

  1.  We are getting organized for the new year in the studio which is always a good New Years resolution.  We just purchased these great grey file boxes to store a lot of design catalogues, materials, etc.

2.  Getting back into working out and getting up early again! Ugh. I just tried out CBFit which is pilates on steroids. I highly recommend this class.  The first class is free you should try it.

3.  We are starting several projects int eh new year – a beautiful flat in Cole Valley in the city, a ground-up construction in Orinda, and a bedroom suite in Pleasanton.

4.  We are looking for someone wonderful to join our team as our Marketing Manager.  Be sure to check out the listing if you or anyone you know would be a great candidate!

Hope you all are having a great start to 2018.  Can’t wait to share our new projects along the way with you!  Enjoy your weekend!

Happy New Year Everyone!  We had such a nice long break here at the studio and are back with some great new ideas to share and are ready to hit the ground running!  One of my favorite things to do at the beginning of each year is to buy an updated calendar.  Whether it’s for the wall, one for my desk, or even for my purse, I love the process of looking at what I accomplished in the previous year’s calendar as I start to plug in projects, birthdays and travel for the year ahead in my new one!  Here are some calendars I love if you haven’t found one for yourself yet…

Look out 2018!!!  We’re coming for ya!

It’s the last day of our 12 Days of Christmas Series and hopefully by now, you have the majority of your shopping done, errands run, and you can enjoy being home doing a little wrapping!  Thought I’d share some of my favorite wrapping inspiration with you.  I’m a fan of sticking with a theme for each Christmas which tends to make wrapping easier…whether it’s black paper with a fun striped ribbon and a little evergreen topper or a beautiful glossy white box with red satin ribbon, you can’t go wrong!  Here are some of my favorite ideas…

To me, the wrapping makes the gifts all the more special.  You could have a piece of gum in the box and if it’s wrapped in a beautiful way, it would make it feel like the best gift ever!  So have fun with your wrap and enjoy these last few days before Christmas is here!

Need some inspiration for the foodie in your life?  Here are a few of my favorite cookbooks I’m giving this year!

I love the philosophy of this book…eat healthy during the week and then indulge on the weekends! Brilliant!!

I do love putting together a good cheeseboard!

Inspired by the menu at Malibu Farm–not only is it beautiful but it has delicious recipes!

How many times have you asked what you could bring when heading over to a friend’s house for dinner? This book has all the answers you need!

And if you need a little Christmas baking inspo, this is just the book for you!

I always love getting new cookbooks!   And it’s always great to be armed with new recipes to start the coming year with!  So buy one for yourself when you grab them for your friends!  I think you’ll love them all!

I think guys can be really hard to buy for, but fear not…I have just the gift for those finicky men of ours–Man Crates!!!  I love their manifesto–“We believe gifts should be exciting, nay, unforgettable! Giving gifts should be as fun as receiving them, and honestly, we’ve never gotten giddy handing some poor sap a necktie in a shiny box.  Our mission is to make awesome gifts that guys actually want, gifts that reek of excitement and bring people together. We’re in the business of making memories with a hint of mischief.  We are Man Crates, and we make awesome gifts guys love.”

Here are some of my favorite “crates”…

The Clean Shave Crate

The Pitmaster Crate

The Caveman Crate

The Bloody Mary Crate

Personalized Golf Ball Mini Crate

There are so many fun crates to choose from that you are sure to find one that is just right for any guys on your list!  Have fun perusing their site…you are sure to get a kick out of them!

I know I’ve mentioned Quarterlane Books to you before, but I thought I’d mention them again as they have great winter collections that would make the perfect gift for the book lovers in your life!

Cherry Bombe, the book, a one year subscription to Cherry Bombe and a great classic tote to go with!

I love the Winter Memoir Box. It even contains a piece of artwork by artist Lisa Congdon.

The Winter Fiction Collection contains 4 of the best novels this season.

And Quarterlane also has their own gift guide this season that is chock full of great ideas.  I highly recommend you check it if you’re still on the hunt for clever, last minute gifts!  The clock is ticking though, so you don’t have much time left!  Enjoy!

OK, I know Christmas is the time for giving, BUT, if you are on the hunt for some great holiday fashion for parties or just feeling like you want to be festive, you HAVE to check out  J. Crew this season.  In addition to some awesome gift ideas, they have so many things I want!!!  Here are a few that I’ve had my eye on and some things that I actually have in my closet…shhhh!!!!

Love this tartan plaid sweatshirt!

I actually own this top! I wear it under grey, black and navy sweaters, blazers and even on its own (maybe not with these plaid pants though). I love this shirt!

Great little velvet cami to layer under a blazer for an easy going-out outfit!

I think this tulle skirt would be fun to wear to a holiday party…you could dress it down with a T and a denim jacket as well.

This sweater dress isn’t all that holiday-ish, but it’s wintery and seriously the cutest sweater dress on.

This would be fun to wear for Christmas or New Year’s parties!

Maybe when you go you can employ the “one for them and one for me” rule!  They’ve had such good sales that you could easily justify it!  ha!  Have fun shopping!

Sometimes teens can be hard to buy for at Christmas, but I think these Cinema Lightboxes are a great gift for girls and boys both.  The best part about them is that they can change them to say whatever they want to fit their mood…and we know those are changing constantly!!!  ha!

I like the size of this mini lightbox as it can sit on a desk or a nightstand!

I think these would also be a great gift to give for graduations too, so if you don’t grab one for Christmas, definitely tuck the idea away for spring time!  Enjoy!

We’re half way through our 12 Days of Christmas series and today wanted to share a fun gift for your own dog or for anyone you know that is a dog lover!  I absolutely love the collars and leashes by Found My Animal.  But what I love more is their mission to find a home for all animals and how they want to spread the word.  “By encouraging rescue over purchase, we support animal welfare by asking pets and their owners to help deliver our simple, important message…let your pet wear your values”.   Such a cool concept and would be a super cool gift!

Love the ombre pink!

Hand dyed and crafted in Brooklyn from domestic leather and US manufactured marine-grade rope.

Thinking I’m going to have to get one for Tucker and Beau each!!

I don’t use red much throughout the year in any of my decor, but I love using at Christmas!  Whether it be the ribbon on my wreaths or a cute red box to wrap things in, nothing says Christmas more than a little pop of this bright cheery color!  Here’s how I’m using it and some more ideas to inspire your Christmas decor…

These are the barn doors in our studio.

Another wreath we have in the studio here…we ordered the Cheers light from West Elm last year. Isn’t it festive?

Aren’t these red boxes so cheery? We used them to wrap some amazing toffees, chocolates and caramels from my friend Susan’s company…@hofssichocolates.

So if you haven’t done it already, throw some red into your holiday decor!  It’s sure to put you in a festive spirit!
