Many thanks to Gentry Home for the great article in your most recent issue!  Recounting what I do in a 24 hour period made me realize how full my days actually are!  But they’re filled with all good things and I’m grateful every day to be doing something I love.

I’m not usually a super ruffly kinda girl, but I have to say, I’m rather enjoying the ruffle trend that’s going on right now!  Here are some of my faves…

I actually think this is probably my favorite piece with ruffles I own as it is cute with a tank and flip flops or I sometimes dress it up with a crisper top and heels–

This is probably my second favorite ruffly piece I own.  Unfortunately, they are almost sold out of the blue and white, but they do have it in a pink at JCrew and it’s on sale now!

Love this Ruffled Rafia Tote!

Isn’t this the cutest ruffled bedding for a little girl????

Great simple ruffled sleeves on this white sweater.

And even though I don’t wear much red, these would be really fun to have in the summer…

Ruffled Fringe Slides…and they’re on sale at Anthro!

Love the soft ruffles on this throw…

Kennebunk Home Sassy Throw

I think this little dress would make a great cover up…

Hattie Shift Dress

I think this suit is great cause the ruffle is simple, but adds a fun detail…

Ruffled One Shoulder Bikini Top

And that does it for me and my ruffles!

And am totally into the buckle detail on these slides!  They come in black as well.

As warm as its been around here this week, would’ve loved to have had this adorable dress to throw on!

Still need a few things for mom?

Jo Malone is a classic and the peony and blush suede is perfect for spring!

Love the weight of these sleep pants and the fact that they are slit all the way up makes them nice and cool!

If your mom loves to travel…

It’s even got a cute saying on the inside too!

Gorgeous bowl for summer salads or even just decor!

Didn’t plan it this way, but I must have blue and white on the brain!

Another cute dress…pair it with a pair of bright earrings to wear on Cinco de Mayo!

And one last item…

These adirondacks from DWR would be perfect in just about any outdoor setting!

Speaking of new moms, I’m getting ready to host a baby shower for my niece and am getting all kinds of inspiration from yes, you guessed it, Pinterest!

One of my favorite tips is to remember is that every room should have at least one little touch of black.  I’ve never been able to put my finger on why that is, but for some reason, it just always seems to pull everything together.  It adds a crispness and creates an impact that no other color can.

Like this light fixture in an otherwise very neutral room…

Or the pop of black in the art above the sofa in my living room…

Wish I could tell you why it always works…it just does!

Monday–Items of the Week:  I love using diffusers at home and as accessories when we do installations in our clients’ homes.  These below are some of my very favorites.  Not only are they pretty to look at, but the scents are all lovely!

Lafco Pool House

I LOVE all of the Kai products and have used their roller ball perfume for years!

Love the pink citron scent for spring!

Votivo’s diffusers all smell lovely, but the Clean Crisp White has always been one of my favorites.

Ocean Mist and Sea Salt…take me to the beach now!

I know I already mentioned a Lafco diffuser, but this one is another of my favorite scents. And again, I just love the bottle!

Have you started thinking about what you might get your mom for Mother’s Day?  It’s just around the corner, so I rounded up a few fun items that might help you get started on your gift buying for her!

Suni Chelu Clutch…love the bright blues!

Thought this card couldn’t be any more true!

Great lightweight cargos!

Fun hat with simple detailing.

Beautiful images and great tips for the mom that loves to garden!

And some great gardening shears to go with the book!

And don’t forget some cute gloves too!

My new favorite polish. It’s Essie’s new gel line that literally lasts for 2 weeks! It’s awesome!

Scarves are always a treat!

This is a fabulous body scrub!

Missoni Pillow and Blanket Set

I know I’d remember if only I had this bag!

Still always one of the best glosses around!

And you can never go wrong with a lovely scented candle.

Loving all of the furniture created by Stephen Kenn, but I think my favorite are his pieces from his Bowline collection in which deconstruction is key.  It has quite a minimalist vibe to it and is made out of materials that Kenn found inspiration from sailing.  Think sailcloth, elasticized shock cord and some pieces are actually made with reclaimed WWII military canvas cushions.  His furniture is unique with simple, but very cool details.

The Bowline Collection

Love the way the fabric folds on either end of the sofa.

Check out the cording on the back sides of the chairs.

Love the simplicity of this desk, yet it still has an edgy vibe to it.

Fun stools.

Wednesday–Inspire:  I have always found it very important to give back to my community and one of my favorite organizations to work with is Shelter’s Inc.  I love their mission of providing shelter for families in crisis while teaching them tools to change their lives.   We are so excited to be focusing on their Pittsburgh location.  In this phase, we are making over their conference room that we hope will inspire and educate everyone who is learning to build their resume, interviewing skills and working on job placement.
In addition, we are also going to make over the children’s playroom with tables for art projects, a tutoring area, an art wall, and the world map that we hope will encourage the children and parents to think big and pursue their dreams.
