Suzanne Rheinstein & her Los Angeles store Hollyhock, Inc. have wonderful antiques and new pieces that Hollyhock has decided to carry or reproduce. Her pieces are classic and old-fashioned yet they still are current. It has an eclectic melange of 18th and 19th century antiques mixed with home accessories, art, contemporary furniture and books on interiors, architecture and living well. That was 20 years ago and since its opening Hollyhock has been an exclusive resource for designers and discerning shoppers. The shop is in a charming cottage on La Cienega Boulevard, in the La Cienega Design Quarter.
Lee Jofa, has partnered with Suzanne Rheinstein for a collection of fabrics that came out this past fall. The prints have an antique feel that is hand blocked. In addition she has her “Hollyhock Home Collection,” which is a unique line of custom upholstery, furniture and lighting. She also represents several international product lines, including the colorful hand-thrown lamps of Christopher Spitzmiller, Roy Hamilton ceramics, William Yeoward glass, Vladimir porcelain and Libeco and Gayle Warwick linens. I would choose the COCOCOCO logo in grey. I love the geometry and neutral combination. I live in a lodge, post and beam home in Kasilof, Alaska and having this would set off my cedar plank floors and terra cotta over turquoise venetian plaster walls in my living room.
